Z Gorres Critical

Z Gorres Coma After Surgery

As the whole Filipino nation rejoiced for a history made by Manny Pacquiao, another Filipino boxer is in critical condition in the hospitals ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Z Gorres is in critical condition, reports said. Z "The Dream" Gorres, collapsed on the ring side after his fight and was taken to the hospital. Z Gorres is now in a state of coma after a surgery on his brain and will be on bed for several days to stabilize his condition.

It was a hard blow on Z Gorres head that made some part of his brain to swell and possibly form a blood clot. It happened on the 12th round of his fight against the Colombian puncher Juan Melendez, Z Gorres dropped down after a strong left nearly at the end of the round.

We offer our prayers for your fast recovery Z "The Dream Gorres."

Manny Pacquiao Knockouts Miguel Cotto on 12th Round

I never thought I would have the chance to see the live telecast of the fight between Manny Pacquiao againts Miguel Cotto. Luckily enough, my friend and neighbor got himself the pay-per-view live telecast and I went their immediately just as the fight has started.

I felt so proud seeing Manny Pacquiao come into the ring together with his team and waving the flag. Whats more interesting is that Manny Pacquiao is the underdog of this fight. Miguel Cotto appears to be much bigger than our Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacman Pacquiao. The first round did go to Miguel Cotto scoring 10-9. But that was not a big deal to start with, Manny was just feeling the strength of Miguel Cotto's punches, and in fact during the rounds of the fight, Manny sometimes offer his lower body for Miguel Cotto to hit. Miguel Cotto was punching his lower body like punching a solid stone wall!

I can also recall the commentator say "He is a machine. He loves to fight". At round 3 Miguel Cotto dropped down with his hands on the canvass after a right hook hit from Manny Pacquiao. It appears to be not a strong punch but it really made him realize the strength of Manny's right hook. We cheered and jumped after that round! That moment I knew that Manny Pacquiao is the one who is in control.

During the fourth round, Pacman continues his punches like a machine gun pointing at Cotto, making Cotto unable to defend himself. Even on slow motion replay I can see how fast Manny Pacquiao's punch is, and not only fast it is also remarkable strong. Cotto fell down after being hit by a left hand! Cotto was severely hit. Luckily it was not the end for him.

On round 8, I can see a desperation in Cotto's fight, it seems he keeps avoiding a collision course with Manny and keeps on avoiding him by doing a dance in the ring :-). Manny keeps on reaching Cotto with his punches and tries to trap Cotto in the corner. By this time, Cotto's game plan was to stay alive in the ring. Or maybe he is waiting for a counter miracle punch, which is very impossible against Manny Pacquiao.

On the 12th round, the referee decided to end the fight on a standing TKO. I can see the referee's face looking at Cotto right before he decided to end the fight. I was thinking it was supposed to be Pacman who should finish the fight. But again, the game already ended on round 8, since the Champion Miguel Cotto lost his will to fight and not throwing punches anymore.

Miguel Cotto did not do anything wrong, Manny was just too fast and too strong! Luckily enough for Miguel Cotto that he stood up until 12th round. Congratulations to our People's Champ!
